Location: Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, MD-Core Lab
Day Shift / 7:00am-3:30pm- 20 hours per week , weekend rotations required
*Will Consider Medical Technologist I, II or III*
General Summary:
  • Performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures with minimal supervision. Level of supervision is determined by skill level and experience.
  • Has a working knowledge of equipment, processing of specimens, test results and time constraints of test, in their assigned area.
  • If trained as generalists may be assigned to any area or combination of areas.
  • Has a thorough understanding of medical technology as it is related to their specific job category

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Work requires formal educational background in biology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and microbiology normally acquired through completion of a four year post-secondary school program in clinical laboratory technology.

Experience:
  • This role is intended for Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience and verified/recognized certification.
  • Completion of clinical rotation during final year of bachelor's degree program or (one year) equivalent clinical lab experience or course work specific to the discipline. For this level, the employee must demonstrate certification accepted by the Department of Pathology, or MS degree plus 2 years relevant clinical laboratory experience in an approved CLIA laboratory.

Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:
  • Certification through ASCP or AMT as an MT, CLS, or MLS is required

Salary Range: Minimum 30.38/hour - Maximum 57.71/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
