Job description

Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide hands-on care alongside a certified nursing aide and support to our residents. The PCA plays a vital role in helping residents with daily needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence in a long-term care setting. REQUIREMENT: Must currently be active in a C.N.A. class with check offs completed or have completed the C.N.A. class and awaiting to take written/skills portion of testing for obtaining certificate to be considered for a PCA position


Key Responsibilities alongside a C.N.A.:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility

  • Provide assistance with eating meals as needed

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents

  • Observe residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff

  • Offer companionship and emotional support to residents

  • Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times

  • Follow infection control, safety, and facility procedures

  • Document services provided electronically with Point Click Care.

  • Participate in training, meetings, and in-service programs as required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • REQUIREMENT: Must currently be active in a C.N.A. class or have completed the C.N.A. class and awaiting to take written/skills portion of testing for obtaining certificate to be considered for a PCA position

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills

  • Must be dependable, compassionate, and committed to quality care
