Monday - Friday

7am - 3pm


SUMMARY


Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT…
  • Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy
  • Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.
  • Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
  • Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
  • Comply with performance measures

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • CDL B License


Experience

  • Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar
  • Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices
  • Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred
