Job Description SummaryThe Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job Description

The On Wing Support Test Technician Level 2 is responsible for shipping and receiving, engine prep/de-prep, inspection, troubleshooting, and test operations for GE/CFM commercial engines. You will execute work in accordance with Standard Work, Repair Station Manuals, and all applicable technical references supporting safe, compliant, and high-quality test outcomes. The role is accountable for planning, performing, and documenting inspection operations per approved technical references and Repair Station procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute borescope inspections as assigned; validate criteria, record measurements, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Responsible for performing and documenting inspections per applicable technical references, approved technical references, Repair Station Manuals, and GE policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including EHS, quality, engineering, planning, and materials to support operational initiatives, identify root cause corrective action, and support constant improvement site-wide.
  • Understand and strictly adhere to appropriate technical references such as Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Engine Shop Manuals, Engine Illustrated Parts Catalogs, etc.
  • Act in accordance with GE's FLIGHT DECK fundamentals & behaviors, the site's Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, Training Manual, Test Cell Facility Operations Manual, and other applicable regulatory agency requirements.
  • Accurately document work performed, discrepancies, and corrective actions; book time and maintain traceability in ERP systems.
  • Perform supplementary shop and housekeeping duties as a part of the site's 5S and Total Proactive Maintenance initiatives.
  • Safely operate shop equipment (fork trucks, overhead cranes, tugs, etc.), coach others on operations and GE Policies & Procedures.
  • Ability to use mechanical ingenuity and make decisions in a fast-paced production environment in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  • Availability to work flexible shift patterns as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel to remote international locations for initial training for an extended period.

Basic Requirements:
