Weekend Body Part Model information

What are Weekend Body Part Models?

Weekend Body Part Models are individuals who are hired to model specific body parts—such as hands, feet, legs, or hair—primarily for photography, advertisements, or promotional materials, usually on weekends. These models are selected based on the unique features or aesthetics of certain body parts rather than their full appearance. The work often involves posing for product shoots, commercials, or artistic projects, and can be a flexible job for those who only want to work part-time. Weekend Body Part Models may need to maintain their featured body parts to a high standard and be comfortable following detailed instructions during shoots.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Body Part Model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Body Part Model, you typically need well-groomed, photogenic features (such as hands, feet, or legs), attention to personal care, and the ability to follow direction, with prior modeling experience or agency representation being advantageous. Familiarity with posing techniques, photo/video shoot environments, and sometimes digital portfolio management tools is helpful. Professionalism, punctuality, patience, and adaptability are essential soft skills that help you stand out in this field. These skills and qualities are crucial for consistently meeting client expectations, maintaining your reputation, and securing repeat bookings in a competitive industry.

What does a typical weekend schedule look like for a body part model, and how flexible are the job assignments?

As a weekend body part model, assignments are often project-based and can vary widely depending on the needs of clients, such as advertising agencies or product photographers. Schedules are typically communicated in advance, but last-minute requests can occur, requiring flexibility. Shoots may last a few hours to a full day, and models are expected to maintain the appearance of the featured body part (hands, feet, etc.) between assignments. Strong communication with agencies and clients is essential to coordinate availability and ensure you're booked for suitable jobs.

What is the difference between Weekend Body Part Model vs Hand Model?

Search & ComparisonOften compared for body part modeling opportunitiesSpecialized for hand-focused campaigns

Weekend Body Part Models and Hand Models both work in the modeling industry focusing on specific body parts. While both roles often require a portfolio and involve photo shoots for advertising, Hand Models specialize in showcasing hands for jewelry, skincare, and products, whereas Weekend Body Part Models may cover various body parts like legs, arms, or torso. The choice depends on the specific campaign needs and personal specialization.

Job description

NVIDIA is searching for an outstanding research scientist to build humanoid robot foundation models and systems in the Generalist Embodied Agent Research (GEAR) group. Everything that moves will eventually be autonomous. Our mission is to build general-purpose embodied agents that learn to explore and master complex skills across the virtual and the physical world.

You will work with an amazing and collaborative research team that consistently produces influential works on multimodal foundation models, large-scale robot learning, game AI, and physical simulation. Our past projects include Eureka, VIMA, Voyager, MineDojo, MimicPlay, Prismer, and more. One of our team's most recent milestones includes Project GR00T, a foundation model for humanoid robots. Your contributions will have a significant impact on our moonshot research projects and product roadmaps.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and implement novel AI algorithms and models for general-purpose humanoid robots and embodied agents;

  • Develop large-scale AI training and inference methods for foundation models;

  • Optimize and deploy AI models in physical simulation and on robot hardware;

  • Collaborate with research and engineering teams across all of NVIDIA to transfer research to products and services.

What we need to see:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc., or equivalent research experience.

  • Outstanding engineering skills in rapid prototyping and model training frameworks (PyTorch, Jax, Tensorflow, etc.). Python or C++ is required; CUDA or ROS proficiencies are a plus;

  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience for training LLMs, multimodal foundation models, or large generative models.

  • Experience in foundation and diffusion models, reinforcement learning, agent learning, and applied robotics

  • Experience across one or both of these fields:

Multimodal Foundation Models

  • Hands-on training experience and publications in at least one of the following topics: LLMs; Large vision-language models; Video generative models and diffusion algorithms; Action-based transformers.

  • Excellent skills in working with large-scale machine learning/AI systems and compute infrastructure.

Robotics

  • Hands-on training experience and publications in robot learning, such as reinforcement learning, imitation learning, classical control methods, etc.

  • Deep understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, and sensors;

  • Ability to safely operate robot hardware, lab equipment, and tools;

  • Knowledge of control methods, including PID, model predictive control, and whole-body control;

  • Familiarity with physics simulation frameworks such as MuJoCo and Isaac Sim;

  • Robot hardware design and hands-on building experience.
