Position Summary
The Student - Women's Basketball Team Manager is responsible for assisting the coordination of the women's basketball team with daily team operations.
Note: Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Coordinates with athletic trainers to make sure water is brought out to courts to practice
Organizes team uniforms, assists with gear check-out and check-in processes, assists with gear maintenance, including laundry
Facilitates warm-ups and practices
Records statistics during home games and inputs statistics into statistics programs
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
General Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.
Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of six credits per semester and three credits in the summer
Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher
Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Ability to handle inquires and problems efficiently and direct to the proper staff member
Ability to report for work on time and notify the appropriate individual in advance if unable to work
Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Evening and weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds requires a good deal of walking or standing, or involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
