Job description

As a Flexjet ATC Specialist, your primary responsibility will be providing accurate and timely information about traffic management impacts within the national airspace system (NAS) to our operations. You will monitor the programs in the NAS and relay any impacts to the correct departments, along with potential mitigations. You will also provide weather forecasts as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of FAA operational sources including, but not limited to the Flight Schedule Monitor, the NAS Status page, and the Advisory Database page to produce aviation traffic management forecasts and briefings.
  • Deliver comprehensive NAS impact updates including descriptions of required reroutes, departure delays, metering delays, and ground delay or airspace flow programs.
  • Evaluate traffic management challenges and provide recommendations regarding flight planning and scheduling to Operations.
  • Monitor current NAS conditions and provide timely updates to operations staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with members in Flight Planning to provide real-time traffic management information to facilitate safe, timely, and compliant routing of flights.
  • Communicate complex traffic management information effectively to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the NBAA ATS and other external vendors/stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with advances in traffic management technology and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Director.

Education, Required Skills, and Experience
  • FAA Dispatch license, Instrument rating, or ATP license.
  • Bachelor's degree (or commensurate experience) in aviation management and operations, or a related field, with a solid foundation in airspace or aviation operations principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in national airspace system operations, aviation weather, and a deep understanding of their impact to flight operations.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to self-motivate, handle multiple tasks, meet established targets.
  • Strong personal and work ethics along with a high level of integrity.
  • Must have the ability to work quickly, calmly, and under pressure while also contributing to team efforts.
  • Our operation is 365/24/7 and candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as schedule dictates. This position is fully onsite and requires in-person attendance at our Global Command Center.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with air traffic control regulations and practices.
  • EWINS certification.
  • Professional certification, such as the Certified Aviation Manager (NBAA CAM).
  • Experience working in an aviation or air traffic management role.
