Civil Engineering Technician / Designer - Maple Grove or Woodbury, MN

The Civil Engineering Technician/Designer will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members to design a variety of water and wastewater treatment engineering projects. Project types include but are not limited to treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, and other municipal and industrial infrastructure.
Responsibilities
  • Use established CADD standards to prepare electronic drawings from marked-up plans and/or verbal instruction by engineers/designers.
  • Perform design drafting of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and various other facilities.
  • Organize and schedule work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate with engineers and other design team members.
  • Complete drawing reviews as needed.
  • Organize and maintain project files.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements
  • Associates degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting or related field.
  • 3+ years drafting experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records research, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Civil3D.
  • Autodesk Docs experience.
  • Civil Site Design experience.
  • Site Grading Modeling experience.
  • Underground Infrastructure Design experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Physical Qualifications
  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
