Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker inspects products for quality, packages finished goods, and supports production operations in a fast-paced factory environment. This role collaborates closely with team members to complete tasks efficiently, maintain established standards, and ensure products meet quality requirements. The position may also assist in training new employees, working alongside machine operators, cleaning equipment, and performing other duties as needed to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products visually to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before packaging.
  • Package products accurately and efficiently according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Handle materials safely, including loading, moving, and organizing products and components throughout the production area.
  • Assist with basic assembly tasks as needed to support production flow.
  • Use tools such as tape measures and other basic measuring devices to verify product dimensions and compliance.
  • Perform visual inspections throughout the production process to identify defects or nonconforming products.
  • Collaborate with operators and other team members to complete daily production tasks and meet production goals.
  • Help train new employees by demonstrating proper inspection, packaging, and material handling procedures.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas to support a safe and orderly production environment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation in a noisy, industrial setting.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods while working on the production floor in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Adapt to changing tasks and priorities as directed by production needs.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform product inspection with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with material handling in a production, warehouse, or light industrial environment.
  • Ability to perform packaging tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Basic assembly skills to support production operations.
  • Proficiency in visual inspection to identify product defects or irregularities.
  • Capability to use a tape measure and read basic measurements to verify product specifications.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of the limbs during the workday.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach frequently as part of daily tasks.
  • Comfort working in an excessively noisy environment with appropriate protective equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time in a factory setting.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including potential exposure to excessive heat, cold, or inclement weather.
  • Reliability in following established procedures and maintaining consistent quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a product inspector, material handler, or in a light industrial role is beneficial.
  • Experience working in a factory or high-volume production environment.
  • Familiarity with basic quality control practices and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively on both day and night shifts as assigned.
  • Comfort working within a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate clearly with operators and fellow production workers.

Why Work Here?

This opportunity offers a consistent schedule in a light industrial environment with structured shifts that support work-life balance, including every other full weekend off. You will work as part of a supportive production team where collaboration, reliability, and safety are highly valued. The rotating shift structure provides predictable patterns, and shift differentials recognize the commitment required for non-standard hours. This environment is well-suited for individuals who appreciate hands-on work, steady routines, and opportunities to contribute directly to the success of the operation.

Work Environment

This role operates entirely in a factory setting within a light industrial facility. The work takes place primarily on the production floor, where you will stand and walk for long periods and may need to move throughout the plant as tasks require. The environment is non-climate-controlled, so temperatures can vary significantly, and you may experience excessive heat, cold, or exposure to inclement weather conditions in certain areas. The facility is excessively noisy, and appropriate hearing protection and other safety equipment are provided and required. Multiple shifts are available, including day and night schedules. A and C shifts run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, while B and D shifts run from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The shift schedule follows a rotating pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off, which provides every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) off. The position includes a shift differential for applicable shifts. The dress code follows standard factory and safety guidelines, requiring appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment suitable for a light industrial environment.
