Discover your next career opportunity now! Position Overview: The Optician is responsible for processing optics across a variety of production operations to support program initiatives. Responsibilities: * Grind, polish, and figure various optical materials to specified tolerances based on manufacturing instructions
* Across multiple short-term projects, operate machines and conduct hand operations on optical surfaces with light supervision
* Read and interpret technical drawings and technical work instructions to aid in machining and processing of optical materials
* In concert with Engineering and other Optical Manufacturing Technicians, actively monitor process controls and instructions
* Work with other Optical Manufacturing Technicians to develop basic machining and manufacturing skills along with developing an area of specialization
* Assist in maintaining productivity and efficiency and meeting scheduled delivery dates through internal departmental communication and occasional external reporting
* Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements
* Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness of the work area
* Support Quality Calibration to maintain compliance
Required Qualifications: * High school or equivalent
* Functional, technical and computer skills
* Familiarity with hand tools, manual measurement tools, computer-controlled test equipment, Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Customer-focused and action-oriented
* Problem solving, analytical reasoning, and negotiation skills
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Demonstrated ability to manage time and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while affording top priority to business-critical issues
* Obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
