Job description

Clean Harbors in Breslau, ON location is currently looking for a Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.
This position is responsible for maintaining / repairing heavy diesel equipment within the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Complete and follow requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments.
  • Conducts Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.
  • Perform thorough inspections (CVIP) of equipment and identify required repairs.
  • Perform all required maintenance and repairs to various types of equipment, tanker tailers and heavy-duty trucks;
  • Inspect and diagnose components and equipment for servicing needs.
  • Perform maintenance which follows the manufacturer guidelines;
  • Complete repair orders.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and light and heavy duty vehicles.
  • Communicate equipment servicing needs as required with Supervisor.
  • Complete warranty information.
  • Disassemble, inspect, fit and replace worn or broken parts.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties.
  • Complete all required documentation and in an accurate and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Mechanic Certification (310T license)
  • 5 + years' experience in maintaining of one or more of the following units: pickup trucks, tractors, and trailers;
  • Familiarity with the various types of diesel engines;
  • Ability to oversee, coach and mentor all apprentices and other shop laborers;
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be versed in all aspects e.g. electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines etc.
  • Ability or get or have DriveOn.
  • Valid full drivers license.
