Colonial Plumbing Heating Air in Colonial Heights, VA is looking to hire a full-time entry-level Plumbing Apprentice to go out on location with our experienced plumbers and assist them while learning how to service, diagnose issues with, repair, and install plumbing equipment and systems. Are you interested in learning a skilled trade and starting a successful, well-paid career as a plumber? If so, keep reading about this great apprenticeship!

Our entry-level Plumbing Apprentices earn a competitive hourly wage of $16-$27/hr, depending on experience. You will also be eligible for benefits which include health benefits, dental and AFLAC options (pre-tax), AD&D and term life insurances, and a 401(k) plan. We offer six paid holidays per year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) and generous PTO (personal time off) after 90 days:

  • 40 hours - start through year 3
  • 80 hours - 3rd year through year 6
  • 120 hours - 7th year through year 19
  • 160 hours - 20th year+

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PLUMBING APPRENTICE

As a Plumbing Apprentice, you are eager to learn! You go out in the field and assist our experienced plumbers in the installation, alterations, additions, repairs, and maintenance of our commercial and residential clients' plumbing equipment. As you assist them, they mentor and train you on everything from how to talk with clients to how to properly service systems and equipment.

You are a hard worker who does whatever is asked of you and pays close attention to what you're being taught. With great attention to detail, you keep all materials, tools, and equipment clean and organized. In addition to on-the-job training, you spend some of your time participating in classroom instruction. You are excited to be part of our apprenticeship program and can't wait to advance in this practical, high-paying career!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current enrollment in an apprenticeship program recognized by the state of Virginia
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug testing
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work from heights or small crawl spaces
