Position Overview
VectorUSA is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Sound & Signal Apprentices. This apprenticeship program is designed for candidates interested in building a career in the low-voltage and integrated technology industry.
Apprentices will receive structured training, mentorship from experienced technicians, and hands-on field experience installing and maintaining advanced technology systems. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable technical skills while earning and advancing within the industry.
Responsibilities
  • Assist technicians with the installation of low-voltage systems including:
    • Access control systems
    • Video surveillance (CCTV) systems
    • Network cabling and infrastructure
    • Audio/visual systems
    • Security and life safety systems
  • Support system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and system diagrams
  • Follow safety procedures and company standards on job sites
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and organized work areas
  • Participate in apprenticeship training and coursework as required by the ABC program
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and supervisors

Qualifications
To qualify for sponsorship and program eligibility, candidates must:
  • Be at least 17½ years of age (legal guardian signature required if under 18)
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Provide sealed official transcripts showing:
    • One year of high school algebra or
    • One semester of college algebra with a passing grade
  • Social Security Card
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Provide a K4 DMV driving record
  • Be eligible to work in the United States

Final acceptance into the apprenticeship program is subject to:
  • Successful completion of the TABE aptitude test (70% minimum)
  • Successful completion of oral interview (80% minimum)
  • Completion of ABC SoCal orientation

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Climb ladders and work at heights
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Compensation
  • Apprentices begin at a percentage of Journeyman wage (per program guidelines)
  • Progressive wage increases throughout the apprenticeship
  • Full-time employment status
