Title: Offering Specialist - Plumbing


Reports to: Offering Manager - Plumbing

The Offering Specialist - Plumbing supports the strategic and commercial management of Armstrong's global plumbing offering portfolio, with a primary focus on commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential domestic water systems. The role reports to the Offering Manager - Plumbing to execute portfolio strategy, support business growth initiatives, and drive lifecycle management of plumbing offerings across hardware, controls, connected solutions, and aftermarket services.

The successful candidate will combine market awareness, technical competency, and business acumen to help Armstrong strengthen its market position, improve profitability, and support long-term portfolio growth. The role is highly cross-functional and requires the ability to influence and drive alignment across engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, marketing, sales, and regional business teams within a matrix organization.


Key Responsibilities

Offering & Lifecycle Management

  • Support in managing the full offering lifecycle, including market introduction, growth, enhancement, rationalization, pricing updates, and end-of-life activities.
  • Support execution of the global plumbing offering strategy and product roadmap.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and support strategic decision making.
  • Support business planning activities including pricing strategy, portfolio optimization, forecasting, and growth initiatives.
  • Support go-to-market activities including product launches, commercialization strategies, and customer engagement.
  • Utilize digital tools, data analytics, and AI-enabled technologies to improve product management efficiency, market analysis, decision-making, and cross-functional execution.

Business Unit & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a leader within the plumbing business unit by representing the customer, market, and application perspective within the Plumbing business unit.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, software development, operations, sourcing, quality, service, marketing, sales, and regional business teams to support portfolio growth and business objectives.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organization to support alignment, influence decision-making, and drive execution within a matrix environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to customer experience, operational efficiency, and business performance.

Market, Customer & Technical Leadership

  • Develop strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, domestic water booster packages, applications, and market requirements.
  • Execute Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Sales (VOS) activities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support customer engagement activities with consulting engineers, contractors, developers, distributors, and end users.
  • Travel across North America as required, including trips of up to one week at a time, to support customer engagement, market development, training, and business initiatives.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
  • MBA or equivalent business training is considered an asset.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in product management.
  • 2-5 years of experience in application engineering, sales engineering, or related commercial roles within the plumbing, HVAC, pump, or building equipment industry.
  • Experience working within commercial or industrial B2B manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within matrix organizations.
  • Exposure to product development and lifecycle management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and/or Stage-Gate processes.
  • Experience with product management and business analysis tools such as Aha!, Jira, Power BI, Excel, or similar platforms is considered an asset.

Technical & Business Competencies

  • Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, applications, and market dynamics.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing system design principles, controls integration, pressure boosting applications, and building systems.
  • Familiarity with plumbing codes, standards, and certification requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with understanding of pricing, profitability, market positioning, and portfolio management principles.
  • Ability to balance technical detail with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented with strong learning agility and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across competing priorities within a matrix organization.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
