Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will serve as a vital field leader, managing daily operations and driving the execution of high-quality mechanical and plumbing installations. This role gives you the autonomy to oversee project sites while mentoring apprentice plumbers to build the next generation of skilled tradespeople. You will enjoy direct collaboration with project managers in a supportive environment where your leadership directly impacts company growth.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Supervise, assign, and evaluate the daily tasks of apprentice plumbers and field crews.
  • Interpret detailed shop drawings and as-builts to guide accurate field installations.
  • Install, cut, bend, and thread pipes, valves, and fixtures for complex plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Plan and run the installation and rigorous testing of gas lines on site.
  • Document daily project progress and field updates efficiently using a phone or tablet.
  • Provide professional oversight to subcontractors and act as the supervisor when the Project Manager is away.
  • Maintain all specialized plumbing tools, equipment, and safety standards across the job site.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Active Journeyman Plumber License from the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
  • Current Muni-Card, with the proven ability to maintain both required trade licenses.
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License and a strong track record operating a motor vehicle.
  • Demonstrated experience reading technical drawings, blueprints, and project schematics.
  • Strong communication skills and professional agility to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces and climbing ladders or lifts at heights up to 60 feet.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing crews on residential or commercial jobs.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and heating systems.
  • Documented experience mentoring apprentice plumbers through formal or informal training.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, general contractors, and team members through clear communication and professional customer service.
  • Strong project planning and scheduling skills, with the capacity to anticipate workflow needs, allocate resources effectively, and keep projects on track.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities, remaining calm and solution-oriented when faced with unexpected site challenges or shifting priorities.
