Currently I have an opening for an Animal Technician located in Lexington, MA. Details for the position are as follows:
Technical Information:

  • Pay: $20-23 hourly
  • Onsite, M-F, 40 hours per week- occasional weekends required
  • 12-month contract with potential for extension/conversion
Qualifications:
  • GED, HS diploma, AS, or BS graduate with hands on experience in animal/rodent handling, sample collection, and/or dosing.
Job Description:
  • Responsible for performing high level of animal handing, dosing, sample collections and data recordings.
  • Contribute technical assistance to research projects in the NNRC rodent facility.
  • Internal relationships include working with technical and scientific members of the in vivo team, Laboratory animal sciences staff, Lab Operations, Research Associates and Research Scientists locally and globally.
  • Ability to review, comprehend and comply with all standard operation procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals.
  • Hands on experience in rodent animal handling and in-life measurements.
  • Hands on experience with bleeding and sample collection.
  • Dosing animals with different route of administration including PO, IP, and SC.
  • Performs and records daily food and health checks on various pharmacology studies.
  • Experience in animal anesthesia and euthanasia.
  • Performs post-procedural and post-surgical monitoring.
  • Performs sample and data collection, necropsy, and tissue collection.
