Veterinary Technician | $20.00-$30.00/hr | Up to $5,000 Sign-On Bonus Available - CVT/LVT/RVT
Location: Naples, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-Hour Overnight Shifts Per Week | 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology (SCAN) is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Neurology & Surgery team in Naples, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys specialty medicine, overnight patient care, anesthesia, and surgery while working alongside board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons in a highly specialized practice.
Compensation
  • $20.00-$30.00 per hour starting, based on experience, skills, and credentials
  • $4.00/hour overnight shift differential
  • Participation in an after-hours surgical on-call rotation with 1.5x pay and bonus opportunities
  • Up to $5,000 Sign-On Bonus available for Licensed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT)
  • Up to $2,500 Sign-On Bonus available for experienced unlicensed Veterinary Technicians

Schedule

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care for hospitalized neurology and neurosurgery patients.
  • Assist board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons with consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and specialty procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia during advanced surgical and diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and patient treatments.
  • Provide exceptional overnight inpatient nursing care while monitoring patient status and communicating changes to the medical team.
  • Assist with MRI procedures and advanced diagnostic imaging.
  • Support advanced neurosurgical procedures and perioperative patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Educate and communicate with clients regarding patient care, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with specialists, veterinarians, and fellow Veterinary Technicians to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Continue developing advanced technical skills in specialty medicine, anesthesia, surgery, and neurology.

Qualifications
  • Previous Veterinary Technician experience required.
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT, LVT, or RVT) are strongly encouraged to apply; experienced Veterinary Technicians with advanced specialty or surgical backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Experience in neurology, surgery, anesthesia, emergency, or specialty medicine preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient nursing, and laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative specialty team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to veterinary medicine.
  • Ability to confidently manage complex cases in a specialty hospital environment.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills are required for this role. Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
