ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Engineering of assigned area of glass fabrication.
  • Manage process related tooling in preparation for each production run.
  • Trouble-shoot line operations.
  • Issue and revise drawing and process sheets as a result of continuous improvement in the process.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement in capability and/or scrap reduction.
  • Verify conformance of components to customer specifications.
  • Analyze weekly production results, identify deficiencies and implement the necessary improvements.
  • Work with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput and improve the products' dimensional capability.
  • Train operators how to safely and effectively operate plant equipment and machinery.

REQUIRTEMENTS
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical recommended
  • 2 to 5 years in manufacturing environment, glass assembly desired
  • 6-Sigma - Green or Black Belt
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Fluent in use of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven track record of cost reduction in process manufacturing by means of equipment uptime, scrap reduction, cycle time improvement or downtime reduction.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams seeking best possible solutions for improvements.
  • Must be hands-on.
  • Valid driver's license required for business travel.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
  • Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
  • Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
  • Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
