Job description

The Rustic Hobby Airport
The ideal candidates will have a passion for food and excellent customer service skills. Customer satisfaction must be your priority as you create dishes for our backyard atmospheric restaurant inside the airport. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with The Rustic's recipes and standards, ensuring that all food items are made to order and served promptly to guests. You will work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, speed, and teamwork are essential.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to the recipes.
  • Ensure all food items are properly prepared, cooked, and presented in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen work area, including sanitizing equipment and utensils.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure safety and quality.
  • Assist in the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of kitchen stations and equipment.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and communicate shortages or supply needs to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including temperature control, food storage, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Assist in menu changes or special event preparations as required.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant or food service setting.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
