Weekend Ai Data Annotation information

What is a Weekend AI Data Annotation specialist?

Weekend AI Data Annotators are professionals who label, categorize, and tag data—such as images, audio, or text—for use in training artificial intelligence models, specifically working on weekends. Their work ensures that machine learning algorithms receive high-quality, accurately labeled datasets for tasks like computer vision, natural language processing, or speech recognition. This role often involves using specialized annotation tools and following precise guidelines to maintain consistency and accuracy. Weekend annotators may work remotely or on-site, and their contributions are vital for improving AI system performance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a Weekend AI Data Annotation specialist?

To thrive as a Weekend AI Data Annotation Specialist, you need attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with data labeling processes, often supported by a high school diploma or post-secondary coursework in a technical field. Proficiency with annotation platforms like Labelbox, Supervisely, or internal company tools is typically required, along with basic knowledge of data privacy protocols. Reliability, time management, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for meeting project deadlines and collaborating with remote teams. These skills and qualities ensure the accuracy and efficiency of annotated datasets, which are essential for high-performing AI systems.

What are common challenges faced by Weekend AI Data Annotation specialists, and how can they be managed?

Weekend AI Data Annotation specialists often encounter challenges such as maintaining high attention to detail during repetitive tasks and managing productivity over long annotation sessions. Since the work is typically remote or semi-remote, self-motivation and effective time management are crucial to meet project deadlines. It's helpful to take regular breaks, communicate proactively with team leads when questions arise, and make use of any annotation guidelines or quality assurance feedback provided. Collaborating with teammates through chat platforms or project management tools can also enhance consistency and resolve uncertainties quickly.

Job Description:Role Overview

We are looking for a Solutions Manager to serve as a technical bridge between our customers and internal teams across Product, Engineering, and Operations.

You will work directly with customers in AI, robotics, and autonomous driving, deeply understand their technical and data requirements, and translate those needs into scalable, executable solutions. You will own customer projects from initial discovery through solution design, implementation, and delivery, while also helping identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.

This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who is technically strong, customer-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Discovery & Technical Engagement
  • Own the customer engagement lifecycle for AI, robotics, and autonomous driving projects.

  • Lead technical discussions with customers to understand their business objectives, workflows, and data requirements.

  • Translate complex or ambiguous customer needs into clear, measurable project requirements and success criteria.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how customers use data for robot learning, autonomous systems, model training, and evaluation.

Solution Design
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to design customized AI data collection and delivery solutions.

  • Define project scope, workflows, task structures, data requirements, annotation specifications, deployment environments, and hardware needs.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, resource requirements, cost structures, and end-to-end delivery strategies.

  • Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with customer objectives.

Project Delivery & Customer Success
  • Own the execution of customer projects from kickoff through final delivery.

  • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to keep projects on track and ensure high-quality, consistent data delivery.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve technical or operational issues.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing clear communication, project updates, and timely resolution of issues.

  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships through reliable execution and technical expertise.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to identify challenges and improve internal tools, workflows, and processes.

  • Capture customer feedback, market trends, and recurring industry pain points to inform product development and roadmap decisions.

  • Help translate end results from customer projects into scalable solutions and repeatable processes.

Commercial & Business Development Support
  • Support the commercial team in developing technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), project scopes, and pricing materials.

  • Identify opportunities for additional services, expanded scope, and follow-on projects within existing accounts.

  • Partner with sales and account teams to communicate the technical value and feasibility of proposed solutions.

  • Contribute to growing customer relationships and expanding revenue opportunities.

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical sales, project management, product, or a related customer-facing technical role.

  • Experience in AI, robotics, autonomous driving, data services, or a related technology industry.

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end AI data lifecycle, including data collection, annotation, quality assurance, delivery, model training, evaluation, and iteration.

  • Ability to translate ambiguous customer requirements into structured, actionable technical and project plans.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Fluent English communication skills, including the ability to lead customer meetings, technical discussions, and business conversations in English.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong ownership mentality and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment.

Strong Plus
  • Experience working with autonomous driving or robotics datasets, including perception, planning, sensor, or other multimodal data.

  • Familiarity with robot learning, embodied AI, or autonomous systems workflows.

  • Experience with egocentric/first-person data, multimodal datasets, sensor fusion, video data, or teleoperation data.

  • Familiarity with data annotation platforms, data visualization tools, or AI data management systems.

  • Basic proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Experience working with customers on data infrastructure, ML pipelines, model evaluation, or other technical AI products and services.
