Job description

Meats By Linz is seeking to add talent to our HAMMOND facility!

Position Summary

Meats by Linz is seeking dependable and hardworking General Labor employees to support our production and warehouse operations. This position is responsible for assisting with various production processes, packaging, material handling, sanitation, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, team-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality products while following all food safety and company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the processing, packaging, labeling, and palletizing of meat products.
  • Load and unload products, ingredients, and packaging materials as needed.
  • Prepare products for shipping while ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Inspect products for quality, appearance, and proper labeling.
  • Maintain production lines by supplying materials and removing finished goods.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), USDA regulations, HACCP procedures, and company food safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing routine sanitation and housekeeping duties.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks and other equipment as trained.
  • Report food safety, quality, equipment, or safety concerns to supervision immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or food production experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and stooping.
  • Ability to work in cold temperatures typical of a food production facility.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
Work Environment

This position works in a refrigerated food manufacturing environment where exposure to cold temperatures, moving machinery, noise, and raw meat products is common. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all company safety, food safety, and sanitation policies at all times.
