What is a weekend aesthetic nurse?

A Weekend Aesthetic Nurse is a registered nurse who specializes in providing cosmetic and aesthetic treatments, such as Botox, dermal fillers, laser therapy, and skin care procedures, typically working shifts on weekends. These nurses work in medical spas, dermatology clinics, or plastic surgery offices, helping clients enhance their appearance safely. Their responsibilities include consulting with patients, performing non-surgical cosmetic procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining safety standards. Weekend Aesthetic Nurses often have additional certifications in aesthetics and must stay current with the latest trends and technologies in the field.

How does a typical weekend shift for a weekend aesthetic nurse differ from weekday shifts in terms of responsibilities and patient flow?

Weekend Aesthetic Nurses often experience a higher volume of client appointments due to patients’ increased availability outside of standard work hours. This can mean a busier, more fast-paced shift with back-to-back procedures such as injectables, laser treatments, and consultations. The team structure may also be leaner on weekends, requiring nurses to be more autonomous and adaptable. Collaboration with supervising physicians or aestheticians is still crucial, but weekend staff often need to handle more responsibilities independently. This environment provides excellent opportunities for skill development and experience with a diverse client base.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend aesthetic nurse, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Aesthetic Nurse, you need a valid nursing license (RN or LPN) along with specialized training or certification in aesthetic procedures like injectables and laser treatments. Familiarity with devices such as dermal fillers, Botox, and laser equipment, as well as electronic medical record (EMR) systems, is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach help build trust and ensure a positive client experience. These competencies are essential for providing safe, effective treatments and maintaining high patient satisfaction in a competitive field.

Job description

Aesthetic Nurse
Optimum Human | Albuquerque, New Mexico
Why This Role Matters
How someone feels in their own skin shapes confidence, energy, and quality of life in ways that go far beyond the surface.
At Optimum, aesthetics is clinical work. Our clients come with real goals and real expectations-and they trust us to deliver results with precision, safety, and genuine care. The Aesthetic Nurse is the person who makes that happen: combining technical expertise in injectables and advanced laser treatments with the kind of patient relationship that turns a first visit into a long-term partnership.
This is not a spa nursing role. You will practice at the intersection of medical-grade aesthetics and high-performance client care, within a clinically integrated environment that holds every service to a physician-level standard. We hire for attitude and aptitude above all else. Credentials matter, but who you are and how you grow matter more.
Who We Are
Southwest Women's Oncology (SWWO) is New Mexico's leading gynecologic oncology practice, delivering advanced cancer care with skill, courage, and compassion.
Optimum Human and Optimum Infusion extend that mission into performance medicine, infusion services, longevity, recovery, hormone optimization, medical weight loss, peptide therapies, hyperbaric medicine, aesthetics, and human performance.
Together, we operate as a single integrated platform committed to one mission:
To deliver new possibilities in medical care, human performance, and health by uniting passion, knowledge, and skill.
The Opportunity
The Aesthetic Nurse will deliver advanced aesthetic treatments within Optimum's physician-supervised clinical environment-administering injectables, operating advanced Sciton laser technologies, and conducting thorough patient consultations to develop personalized treatment plans.
You will work closely with:
  • Physicians, oncologists, and regenerative medicine specialists on collaborative, holistic patient care
  • The aesthetics and clinical team on treatment protocols, safety standards, and service refinement
  • Leadership on continuous improvement of client services and the overall patient experience

You build lasting client relationships, represent the Optimum brand with excellence, and help define what exceptional aesthetic care looks like in a high-performance medical practice.
What You'll Own
Aesthetic Treatments & Patient Care
  • Administer injections and aesthetic treatments to patients with the highest standards of care, precision, and safety.
  • Operate advanced Sciton laser technologies including BBL, HALO, Moxi, Clear V, and Clear Silk.
  • Conduct thorough patient consultations to understand individual goals and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with health and aesthetic objectives.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering exceptional care-consistently exceeding client expectations while ensuring comfort, well-being, and satisfaction.

Client Relationships & Brand Representation
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that promote loyalty, trust, and repeat visits.
  • Represent Optimum as a brand ambassador-communicating clearly about procedures, products, and treatment plans in a way that is approachable and confidence-inspiring.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures to clients clearly.

Compliance, Documentation & Safety
  • Maintain accurate and timely charting records for each client encounter.
  • Adhere to strict medical guidelines, safety protocols, and all regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ensure strict HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality at all times.

Continuous Learning & Collaboration
  • Stay current on the latest techniques, technologies, and products in aesthetic medicine.
  • Collaborate with physicians and senior leadership to continuously refine and improve client services.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude toward continuing education and professional development.

What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days
  • Independently delivering the full scope of aesthetic treatments to Optimum's clinical standard.
  • Building a growing client base with strong early retention and satisfaction.
  • Strong working relationships established with physicians, clinical team, and leadership.

First 6 Months
  • Recognized as a trusted aesthetic resource by clients and clinical colleagues alike.
  • Measurable growth in client retention, repeat visits, and treatment plan completion.

First Year
  • Viewed as a culture carrier and cornerstone of the Optimum aesthetics program.
  • Consistently embodying the Optimum Standard.

Who Thrives Here
We want people who bring relentless positivity, a hunger to learn, and the drive to elevate everyone around them. You will likely thrive if:
  • You take ownership rather than waiting for direction.
  • You believe details matter.
  • You enjoy solving problems and seek continuous improvement.
  • You care deeply about patients and their families.
  • You value teamwork and accountability equally.
  • You're coachable, curious, and committed to mastery.

What You Bring
Required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico.
  • Minimum one year of experience in aesthetics, including injectables and laser treatments.
  • Proficiency in aesthetic techniques including knowledge of facial anatomy and injection sites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine focus on patient care, satisfaction, and relationship building.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling including evenings and rotating weekends (minimum one, maximum two weekend days per month).

Preferred
  • Experience with advanced Sciton laser technologies including BBL, HALO, Moxi, Clear V, and Clear Silk.
  • LPN, NP, or MD credentials.
  • Sales or client relationship experience in an aesthetic or concierge medicine environment.

Our Culture
We act with courage and embrace accountability.
We serve with precision and hold ourselves to impeccable standards-then raise them.
We reject mediocrity and the comfort of "good enough."
We measure success not only by outcomes, but by the integrity, excellence, and humanity we bring to every interaction.
Way Better. Extraordinary by Design.
If you crave mastery, meaning, and measurable impact-welcome home.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Access to the Optimum Human Performance Center-full AI gym suite, recovery modalities, group fitness, and body composition tracking
  • Opportunity to grow within the Optimum Platform

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Albuquerque, New Mexico office.
