Job description

For more than 30 years, SQA Services has provided managed supplier quality services—including inspections, audits, corrective actions, and engineering support—to manufacturers across regulated industries. We deploy experienced quality professionals throughout the United States and in over 90 countries to support client and supplier sites on demand.
 
We are seeking one Electromechanical Source Inspector (Level 2) to perform source inspections at multiple supplier locations in Phoenix, Arizona. 
This is a flexible, full-time or part-time role, averaging 3- 5 days per week, where inspectors may accept or decline individual inspection requests.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform source inspections at external suppliers and special processors
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections, including witness inspections of critical features
  • Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and inspection packages
  • Verify inspection equipment and methods are appropriate per drawing intent
  • Review justification for parts not inspected at final inspection
  • Audit execution to approved inspection plans when applicable
  • Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of FOD
  • Verify safety wire installation per specification
  • Measure tight-tolerance parts on a surface plate using hand tools
  • Verify supplier product protection, preservation, and shipping documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Experience performing electromechanical inspections in an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, procedures, and schematics
  • Hands-on experience with hand inspection tools and surface plate inspection
  • Ability to work independently at supplier sites
  • U.S. Citizen and able to pass a criminal background check
  • Personal vehicle required for local travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience performing source inspections at supplier facilities
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing background
  • Experience inspecting electromechanical assemblies, including wiring, connectors, and mechanical interfaces
  • Familiarity with special processes (e.g., plating, coatings, external processing)
  • Experience performing witness inspections and verifying inspection plans
  • Strong documentation skills and experience completing inspection packages or sign-off sheets
  • Ability to work independently in supplier environments and communicate findings clearly
50% hourly rate for any travel time ("p2p")
Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.725 per mile driven). Untaxed.
