Frontier Cooperative is offering to the right individual an exciting career opportunity to be our next AG Advisor that can promote, support and advance AG related programs, products and services for our company.
Job Duties
Establishes and maintains quality customer relationships by following customer service standards.
Practices and adheres to professional communications with customers, employees, and vendors work as a viable team member and communicate with all AG Advisors and Location Managers to best coordinate services, machinery, equipment, spray orders and employees to efficiently meet the needs of the customer; analyzing, recommending, and resolving customer service problems by making appropriate recommendations.
Provides quality follow-up to ensure customer problems or issues are resolved.
Analyzing producer's crop production history, future yield expectations, soil type and fertility, current crop production equipment, and producer crop production knowledge base.
Assess effectiveness of past crop seed, fungicide, herbicide, and insecticide products used.
Based on analyzed information, develops, presents, and implements producer's crop production plan that focuses on the most efficient and effective methods to improve crop production.
Makes recommendations to producers on seed type and size, crop rotations, type and amounts of dry or liquid fertilizer, type and amounts for herbicide, fungicide or insecticide treatments.
Calculates and presents pricing plan on seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and application services
Negotiate prices with producer after receiving approval from Agronomy Division Manager, apply discounts for early seed orders; processes pre-pays on products; processes invoices on products or services for billing; resolves pricing and billing issues; explains terms and conditions of product or service contracts and contractual responsibilities.
Prepares and processes customer order products through various vendors; assist in receiving and unloading product; inventories product by data entry into company software inventory additions
Prepares received customer product orders for delivery or pick-up; delivers seed, fertilizer and chemicals as needed.
Develop aerial maps using satellite software program to establish specific crop fields, plat lines, water-ways, plat descriptions, amount of acres, and specific amounts of chemicals or fertilizers to be applied to mapped fields.
Conducts application calculations of specific amounts of chemicals and fertilizer based on soil fertility, plant health, weed and insect counts; prepares and distributes application tickets, maps and directions to manager or dispatcher on the proper fields to be treated; follows-up on completion of application for accuracy and resolve applicator errors and omissions of chemicals and fertilizers; contacts producers when application process has been completed.
Conduct and inspect fields to determine effectiveness of seed, chemical and/or fertilizer products; inspect and assess missed applications of chemicals and/or fertilizers on fields; assess success rate of crops by determining percentage of germination, inspect and assess plant health, fungus issues, and weed and insect population counts; report findings to the producer and recommend treatments; finalize the sale of product treatment recommendation; order, receive, inventory and distribute treatment product to the producer.
Responsible to promote, support, and advance the cooperative business plan put forth by the Agronomy Division Manager; develops and implements a marketing plan to develop, grow and maintain a customer base through agronomy products and services; assist in preparations of fertilizer, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and seed test plots to promote products; have a field presences during harvest to assess results of the current crop production plan and to use the data to adjust and/or modify next season's crop production plan.
Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by following all company, OSHA, and EPA safety standards and regulations.
The successful candidate that joins our team will develop professional relationships with our producers to provide AG related products and services to ensure profitable goals are achieved.
There is considerable daily travel within our trade area, overnight travel is typically a few times per year.
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field and a minimum of 2 years in agronomy and/or agronomy sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer a valid CDL- Class A or B with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements and current CCA certification OR we will assist the successful candidate in obtaining their license and certification at a future agreed upon date.
