ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING(ADON), Greenwood Care, Evanston, IL


Greenwood Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility in Evanston, IL, Seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). RN Preferred.

This is a Full Time Position with Salary of $80k-$85k, Depending upon Qualifications, Plus Full Benefits, including 401k and PTO, and Opportunity for Advancement!


The Schedule includes Variable Hours – the ADON will be On Call as Needed, including on Weekends


The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON)

regarding all nursing department tasks and duties, to ensure quality nursing services for those with mental illness.

ADON will act as second in command as needed.


Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):

  • Support nursing department for a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility
  • Help hire, train, and evaluate nurses and care staff
  • Scheduling of nursing staff
  • Ensure the facility meets state, federal, and local healthcare regulations
  • Help manage budgets, handle disciplinary actions, and lead team meetings
  • Support operations of nursing department including ordering supplies, communication with pharmacies and providers
  • Ensure nursing care needs of consumers are met


Requirements:

Requirements of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):

  • Must be either a LPN or RN, licensed in the State of Illinois; RN preferred
  • Two to Three years’ clinical management experience in healthcare and/or mental health facility
  • Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA IDPH
  • Desire to help adults with psychiatric disorders work toward recovery
