Job description

Director of Analytics
Reporting to: SVP, Strategic Analytics
Department: Strategic Analytics
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Position Summary
Grand Circle Corporation is the leader in international travel, adventure and discovery for Americans aged 50+. Headquartered in Boston MA, and with more than 35 offices globally, more than two million Americans have traveled with our award-winning travel brands: Grand Circle Cruise Line, Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel.
We're looking for a Director of Analytics to lead how we understand, measure, and act on customer, digital, and operational data across our brands. Reporting to the SVP, Digital Analytics, you will lead a team of analysts and our Data Collection Product Manager, shaping strategy and turning data into insight that influences decisions across marketing, product, digital experience, and the Traveler Relations Center. This role sits at the intersection of advanced analytics, customer intelligence, and business strategy, and is focused on insight and impact rather than reporting production.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the analytics function - setting the vision, roadmap, and standards for how the organization uses data to answer its most important questions.
  • Analyze customer, web, marketing, and operational data to identify actionable insights and opportunities across the traveler journey.
  • Analyze performance and provide insights using dashboards and reporting that track customer journeys, marketing effectiveness, and Traveler Relations Center KPIs.
  • Co-own the strategy and governance for web and digital analytics with our Adobe Analytics Product Manager - including the data layer, tag management, and event collection across Adobe Data Collection, Adobe Analytics, and Google Analytics - ensuring accurate, trusted measurement.
  • Develop and enhance our marketing attribution strategy, defining marketing channels, rules, and methodology to give the business consistent visibility into channel contribution and ROI.
  • Tell data-driven stories that convince and influence leaders using clear insights and recommendations.
  • Partner with brand, marketing, product, and TRC teams to translate analytical findings into measurable business impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts and analytics product managers, building bench strength and championing analytical best practices.
  • Champion data democracy and self-service so business users can access the insights they need on demand and analysts can focus on higher-value analysis.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 8+ years in analytics, digital/web analytics, or customer intelligence, with at least 3 years leading and developing teams.
  • Proven ability to lead an analytics function and communicate results and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Hands-on expertise across web and digital analytics - data layer, tag management, Adobe Data Collection, Adobe Analytics, and Google Analytics - with a strong grasp of attribution modeling.
  • Strong statistical foundation with experience in regression, classification, clustering, and time series analysis.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency (complex queries, window functions, and optimization); proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling.
  • Experience using BI and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar) to analyze data and surface insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a quantitative field.

Technical Skills
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses and large-scale datasets (Snowflake, Oracle, or similar).
  • Understanding of the data layer, tag management, and event-collection concepts and how they feed downstream analytics.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline and ETL concepts, partnering with data engineering to ensure data quality and accessibility.
  • Knowledge of data governance, documentation, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services.
  • Experience with customer data platforms or marketing automation.

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow).
  • A/B testing and experimental design expertise.
  • Familiarity with causal inference methodologies and experimentation techniques.
  • Prior experience in travel or hospitality industry.

Total Rewards
The base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and first-class benefits, which include:
  • Health & wellness: Comprehensive and heavily subsidized medical, dental, and vision plans, plus on-site gym access, holistic wellness sessions, and group fitness classes
  • Time for you: Substantial Paid Time Off (PTO), and 11 paid holidays- including Juneteenth, Memorial Day, and Labor Day - and Summer Fridays. Plus- extensive parental leave, with up to 12-16 weeks paid leave at 100% base salary.
  • Travel more, spend less: 50% off our trips for you and a companion, 25% for additional immediate family members, and exclusive quarterly associate travel deals
  • Your future, secured: 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and disability coverage
  • Continuous growth: Tuition assistance for both professional and personal development, opportunities for professional development through oversees travel, and direct access to Pinnacle Leadership & Team Development.
