Job Description Summary:
In charge of cleaning cages and kennels, walking medium to large dogs, administering oral and topical medications, and providing animals with food, water, and enrichment.
Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
  • Prepare food for dogs and cats
  • Walking/exercising dogs
  • Cleaning and sanitizing dog and cat cages/runs.
  • Administering oral/topical medications to dogs and cats.
  • Basic housekeeping (mopping, sweeping, and laundry)
  • Entering patient notes into practice management software.

Knowledge
  • Basic animal care
  • Animal behavior

Skills
  • Basic animal care experience in areas such as feeding, animal ward sanitization, dog walking, cat care, and oral medication administration.

Technology Skills
  • Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a veterinary kennel setting.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
