FLEENOR PAPER COMPANY

JOB TITLE: Pad Operator Helper

DEPARTMENT: Production

FLSA: hourly-paid, non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor and/or Department Manager

SHIFT:5:00am-1:30pm Monday - Friday 

OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the safe, continuous operation, cleaning and minor maintenance of the pad machines. Rotates with the Pad Catcher. Responsible for accurately counting paper pads coming off an automated machine. Responsible for accurately counting pads and stacking neatly on adjacent pallet.

Essential Functions

A) Responsible for the safe, continuous operation, cleaning and minor maintenance of the pad machines.

B) Responsible for accurately counting and stacking pads

C) Perform manual and automated paper catching, tying, stacking and moving

D) Reports defective materials and equipment problems to management

E) Accurately complete production and other paperwork

F) Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, free from hazards

G) Follows all safety rules

H) Requires the ability to stand and walk for a minimum 8-hour shift; work overtime, swing or night shift and weekends

I) Requires the ability to constantly lift, carry, push and pull 30 pounds

Other Duties

A) Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds

B) Participate in special projects as required

Reporting Relationship

A) Reports to the Production Supervisor or Manager

Minimum Qualifications

A) Ability to learn and perform all essential functions and other duties, with or without reasonable accommodation

B) Must be able to understand verbal and written directions and training

C) Must be able to accurately complete production paperwork

D) Must be able to continuously lift, carry, push, pull a minimum of 30 pounds

E) Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum 8-hour shift

F) Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

A) High School Diploma or equivalent

B) Prior experience working in manufacturing

C) Prior experience in paper manufacturing

D) Bi-lingual English-Spanish

B) Responsible for accurately counting and stacking pads

G) Perform routine janitorial and deep cleaning

H) At all times keep work area clean and organized

I) Participate in special projects as required

J) Be flexible responding to changing customer and production scheduling needs.

K) At all times behave in a professional and courteous manner

L) Other duties as assigned

Physical Environment/Working Conditions

This position is in the factory, where temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year and where employees must use eye and hearing protection and be cautious around equipment and forklifts.
