Job description

New Hire Onboarding (Start to Finish)
  • Own the complete onboarding process for all new hires from offer acceptance through 90-day integration

  • Execute and manage a structured 30-60-90 Day Onboarding Plan for every new employee

  • Coordinate all pre-employment requirements: documentation, uniforms, system access, and facility orientation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during the onboarding period

  • Track onboarding milestones, provide progress updates to the OM and GM, and flag concerns early

Driver Trainer Program
  • Manage and continuously improve the Driver Trainer Program for all route classifications

  • Select, certify, and coach qualified Driver Trainers; hold them accountable to training standards

  • Ensure all new drivers complete required behind-the-wheel training before solo operation

  • Track trainer performance and trainee progression; document outcomes in personnel files

  • Coordinate retraining for drivers involved in incidents or performance issues

SMS360 System Management
  • Serve as the facility's primary administrator and subject matter expert for SMS360

  • Ensure all required safety training assignments are created, tracked, and completed on time

  • Pull compliance reports and present status to the GM on a regular cadence

  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendor support as needed

  • Maintain accurate employee records and training histories within the platform

3rd Eye System Management
  • Manage the 3rd Eye in-cab camera and telematics system for the fleet

  • Review flagged events, coaching alerts, and exception reports on a defined schedule

  • Coordinate with supervisors to deliver timely driver coaching based on 3rd Eye data

  • Track driver behavior trends and report patterns to the GM

  • Ensure system is fully operational; escalate hardware or connectivity issues promptly

Facility Inspections
  • Conduct regular scheduled and unannounced facility inspections across the yard, shop, and office areas

  • Document findings using standardized inspection checklists; issue corrective action items with deadlines

  • Follow up to confirm corrective actions are completed and closed out

  • Maintain inspection records and present summary reports to the GM

  • Identify recurring hazards or compliance gaps and recommend systemic corrective measures

Weekly Safety Meetings
  • Design and lead a weekly safety meeting program utilizing frontline supervisors as co-facilitators

  • Build and maintain a rolling safety topic calendar aligned with operational risks and regulatory requirements

  • Provide supervisors with meeting materials, talking points, and attendance rosters

  • Track attendance and ensure compliance across all departments and shifts

  • Document meeting records and maintain files for audit readiness

Incident Management
  • Lead the incident response process for all injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and near-misses

  • Work with supervisors to conduct thorough root cause investigations within required timeframes

  • Complete all required documentation: incident reports, OSHA recordkeeping, and insurance notifications

  • Develop and implement corrective action plans following each incident

  • Track incident trends and present monthly summaries to the GM

  • Maintain OSHA 300 log and ensure regulatory compliance at all times

Operations Supervisory PTO Coverage
  • Serve as operational backup for supervisors during planned and unplanned absences

  • Maintain working knowledge of each supervisor's responsibilities, routes, and team dynamics

  • Coordinate coverage logistics with the GM in advance of scheduled PTO

  • Ensure continuity of operations and accountability standards during coverage periods

New Supervisor Training Program (30-60-90 Day)
  • Design, own, and execute a structured 30-60-90 Day Onboarding Plan for all newly promoted or hired supervisors

  • Cover core competencies: attendance management, discipline documentation, safety accountability, and daily operations

  • Partner with the GM to assess supervisor readiness at each milestone checkpoint

  • Maintain training records and identify gaps requiring additional coaching or development

  • Continuously refine the program based on operational feedback and supervisor performance outcomes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, waste, logistics, or field operations

  • Prior experience in safety, training, or compliance roles strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and DOT compliance requirements

  • Proficiency with digital systems; ability to learn and manage SMS360 and 3rd Eye platforms

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings and occasional weekends
