General Purpose
The Software Engineer - CET develops and maintains digital product content and software extensions for CET Designer, supporting the specification and visualization of MillerKnoll products. Working as part of a cross-functional Agile team, the Software Engineer partners with Digital Product Management, QA, and Delivery Management to deliver new product introductions, enhancements, and ongoing platform improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain CET software extensions using object-oriented programming principles.
- Develop configurable product logic supporting visualization, specification, pricing, bill of materials, and manufacturing rules.
- Create and maintain intelligent 2D and 3D product representations.
- Translate business and product requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
- Participate in Agile development activities including planning, estimation, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across North America, Europe, and Asia to support product launches and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot software defects and implement quality improvements.
- Contribute to engineering standards, development practices, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline OR equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience developing software using object-oriented programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, or similar technologies.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and modern software development practices.
- Experience with source control systems and Agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience developing applications or extensions for CET Designer (Configura) preferred.
- Experience developing CAD, 3D visualization, or product configuration applications preferred
- Knowledge of commercial furniture, manufacturing, or engineering systems preferred
- Experience working with globally distributed development teams. preferred
