What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a Weekend 3D Designer?

To thrive as a Weekend 3D Designer, you need strong proficiency in 3D modeling, rendering, and animation, often backed by a degree or certification in design or a related field. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Blender, Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, or Cinema 4D is typically required. Creativity, time management, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for producing high-quality work on tight schedules and collaborating with clients or teams remotely. • 2+ years of professional experience in automotive exterior design, concept design, or advanced studio environments
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exterior sketching, ideation, and form development expertise
  • Proven ability to work independently on assigned design work with moderate supervision
  • Strong understanding of design development processes and cross-functional integration
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate 2D concepts into 3D models at scale and full size

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience working in an advanced or concept design studio
  • Strong digital design and visualization skills using relevant industry tools
