Job description

Arizona Vascular Specialists is a group of highly specialized vascular surgeons providing patients with the highest quality care. We are seeking for a skilled Vascular ultrasound technologist who wants to team up and is an enthusiastic, dependable and compassionate team player who is willing to learn and contribute to exceptional patient care.

** Job function, duties and responsibilities:**

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Analyze technical information obtained from ultrasound images and make preliminary reports of findings to the interpreting physician.
  • Provide patient education related to medical ultrasound procedures and promote patient comfort and safety during the exam.
  • Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound examination as needed.
  • Knowledge of vascular terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Work with staff and physician's in providing quality care.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Must travel a few times a month to rural clinics.
  • Ensure ultrasound equipment and work areas are clean, functional, and well stocked.
  • Complies with all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Possesses the skills and knowledge needed to assess the condition of the geriatric patient to demonstrate requested anatomy throughout proper patient positioning and technique selection.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements needed:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Associates of Science in a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Preferred but not required: Certified RVT by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Preferred but not required : 2+ years experience in vascular ultrasound
