Job description

Now Hiring: Nurse Aide (NA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)  In Aiea Carehome

Kaamilo Hale LLC — Licensed Adult Residential Care Home

Aiea, Hawaii • Full or Part-Time with Path to Full-Time • $16.75–$20/hr DOE

Who We Are

Kaamilo Hale is a licensed 8-resident adult residential care home in Aiea, HI, owned and operated by a registered nurse. We are not a corporate facility. We are a small, home-like environment where residents are known by name, care is personalized, and staff are treated like ʻohana.

If you’re burned out on large facilities, agency hopping, or constantly changing assignments — this is your reset. Same residents. Same team. Same home. Nurse leadership on-call and actively involved in care.

The Role

You will be a core member of a small, consistent caregiving team. Your day-to-day includes:

• Assisting residents with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility)

• Medication support within your scope of practice and training

• Monitoring and reporting changes in resident condition to the nurse-owner

• Meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry as part of home operations

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and homelike environment

• Communicating professionally with families, visiting agencies, and care team members

• Supporting and following individualized care plans under nurse direction

Schedule

• Part-time: 2 consistent shifts per week (24 hours), with opportunity to grow to full-time. Full time position availability as well would be considered

• 12-hour shifts (approximately 11.5 hours worked); shorter shifts possible depending on schedule fit

• weekend availability is a strong plus: We are specifically seeking Saturday and/OR Sunday coverage — along with weekday opening

• Consistent weekly schedule — no guessing what days you work

• Lunch Meal provided during your shift; no clocking out for lunch required

• Shift pickup opportunities available when covering sick/PTO (never required, always appreciated)

Compensation

$16.75 – $20.00/hr depending on certification, experience, and availability

Performance and compensation review at 90 days. Any pay adjustments are based on reliability, performance, and tenure.

Benefits Package

This is where we stand apart. When you factor in 100% employer-paid health insurance, IRA match, life insurance, TDI, meals, PTO, and free CEUs — total compensation ranges from approximately $22–$26/hr depending on base wage, tenure with us and experience

All Employees:

• Meals provided on shift — no clock-out for lunch

• Bonus opportunities: performance bonuses, employee referral bonuses, and resident referral bonuses

• Annual performance bonus

• Employee appreciation recognition

• Free CNA recertification and continuing education (CEUs) to maintain Hawaii state certification — eligibility based on tenure and performance

• Supportive nurse-owner leadership — you are never alone on a clinical call

Full-Time Employees (additional):

• Health Insurance — 100% employer-paid premium

• Employer-paid Life Insurance — up to $30,000 coverage

• IRA Retirement Plan — employer match up to 3% of salary (vests after 12 months)

• PTO — earned after 12 months of employment

• Hawaii TDI — 100% employer-paid

Requirements

One of the following:

• Active/current CNA license, OR

• Nurse aide schooling certificate, OR

• Documented 6+ months of hands-on caregiving experience (proof required, even if caregiving for family members)

You must also be:

• Reliable, consistent, and committed to your assigned schedule — this is non-negotiable

• Able to work independently and think critically in a home setting

• A team player who communicates well and supports coworkers

• Organized and able to manage care routines without constant redirection

• Looking for long-term stability, not a short-term or temporary role

• Experience in a care home, assisted living, or LTC setting is preferred but not required

Pre-Employment Requirements

We will assist you in completing all required paperwork before your start date.

• Fingerprint background check

• 2-step TB test (if not previously completed) and current TB within the past year; annual TB required thereafter

• Medical release form (specific form provided)

• Verification of credentials (license, certificate, or documented experience)

This role is designed for someone who wants to do meaningful work in a stable, supportive home — and grow with us.

If that’s you, we’d love to connect.
