Job description

Physician Assistant (PA)
Vacaville, CA

Overview:
Our outpatient weight loss clinic in Vacaville is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) for a short-term August coverage assignment. This role involves evaluating and managing adult patients enrolled in medical weight loss programs, with a focus on GLP-1 and related weight management therapies.

Position Offers:

  • Schedule:
    • August 18, 20, 25 & 27: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
    • August 29: 8:30 AM 12:30 PM
  • Competitive hourly compensation: $75+/hour (DOE), 1099 contractor position
  • Malpractice coverage provided
  • Outpatient weight loss clinic setting
  • Adult patient population (18+), approximately patients per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage adult patients enrolled in medical weight loss programs
  • Prescribe and monitor weight management medications, including semaglutide, tirzepatide, phentermine, phendimetrazine, and B12 injections
  • Perform follow-up visits and medication management
  • Document patient encounters in the EMR system
  • Provide patient education on nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to deliver high-quality outpatient care

Qualifications:

  • Active California PA license and DEA registration required
  • Experience in Family Medicine, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Weight Loss, Wellness, or Obesity Medicine preferred
  • Comfortable managing GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) therapies and other medical weight loss medications, with excellent communication and patient education skills
