Job description

Jeffrey A. Miller Hospitality Group (or JAM) is looking for part-time and full-time Prep Cooks to join Sparrow Cuisine airline catering division either working full-time during weekdays from 2pm - 10pm or part-time on weekends from 4am - noon. We are known for high-quality hospitality in the Tri-State area and Sparrow elevates the inflight dining experience with innovative cuisine. The ideal candidate prepares, assembles, and packages high-quality meals for airline catering services. This role is responsible for preparing food, ensuring all items meet quality standards, and are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and specifications. Handle custom and off-menu requests as needed.
  • Assemble meal components with precision and attention to detail. Ensure consistency in portioning, presentation, and packaging.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation while following all HAACP and SERV Safe guidelines for food handling, storage, and sanitation.
  • Stock kitchen according to established par levels.
  • Assist the Packer with order assembly and packaging during peak periods.
  • Deliver food and supplies to clients in a timely and courteous manner, as needed. Ensure safe transport and proper handling of all items.

Qualifications
  • Previous food prep or kitchen experience required; catering or aviation experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and detailed packaging specifications.
  • Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently.

Schedule & Compensation
  • Part-time: weekends from 4am - noon.
  • Full-time: weekdays from 2pm - 10pm.
  • $18 - $22/hr.
