Position Description
An HVAC Designer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work along-side our engineering leadership. The Designer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities & education markets.
Essential Functions:
  • Drafting of HVAC construction drawings including details, plans & sections
  • HVAC load and energy calculations
  • Design of HVAC systems
  • Selection of HVAC equipment
  • Coordinating with other engineering and architectural trades during design
  • Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Participate in developing details, equipment schedules and specifications
  • Research and assesses building performance and other regulations
  • Contribute to design discussions and carry design concept through to project drawings
  • Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainable strategies
  • Coordinate and communicate with other team members.

Position Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting
  • Minimum 5-years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm
  • Ability to work with minimal assistance from senior staff
  • PE not required but a plus
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required
