About Shades By Design
Shades By Design is one of the nation's fastest-growing providers of custom window treatments, motorized shading systems, pergolas, and outdoor living solutions. We work with homeowners, designers, architects, builders, and commercial clients to deliver exceptional projects from concept through completion.
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and hands-on Project Manager to oversee projects across both our indoor and outdoor divisions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing multiple moving parts, solving problems, coordinating teams, and ensuring projects are executed flawlessly.
What You'll Do
  • Manage projects from approved sale through final installation and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, budgets, and installation calendars.
  • Coordinate daily with Account Managers, designers, vendors, warehouse personnel, installers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Conduct site visits to verify measurements, scope, installation requirements, and job-site readiness.
  • Review project specifications and ensure all information is complete before ordering.
  • Assist with procurement by tracking orders, verifying lead times, and following up with vendors.
  • Coordinate permits, engineering requirements, HOA approvals, and certificates of insurance (COIs) when required.
  • Schedule installation crews and ensure materials, equipment, and documentation are ready before installation.
  • Track project costs, change orders, and invoicing milestones.
  • Coordinate motorization and automation integration, including Lutron, Crestron, and related systems.
  • Perform quality control inspections and oversee punch-list completion.
  • Conduct final walkthroughs to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate project records and updates within QuoteRight and company systems.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project management experience in construction, architectural products, custom home projects, window treatments, outdoor shading systems, or a related industry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, subcontractors, installers, and clients.
  • Comfortable reading plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
