Description:

The Associate Landscape Designer supports the Landscape Design Team by assisting clients with the planning, design, and coordination of residential and commercial landscape projects. Under the guidance of the Lead Landscape Designer, this role helps create functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces while developing design, sales, and client management skills.


This full-time position includes weekday and occasional weekend hours based on seasonal business needs. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, customer-focused, and passionate about landscape design, plants, and outdoor living solutions. The Associate Landscape Designer plays an important role in delivering excellent client experiences while contributing to the growth and success of the Design Department.

Requirements:
  • Respond to incoming client leads via email, phone, and customer walk-ins
  • Assist in managing and guiding clients through the landscape design process
  • Collaborate with Lead Landscape Designers to assess and qualify potential projects
  • Collect and organize client and project information for design planning
  • Facilitate service agreements and design deposits with interested clients
  • Assist in assigning and coordinating committed client projects with the Design Team
  • Create “In-House” landscape designs for smaller customer projects and garden areas
  • Assess and recommend design fees for smaller-scale sketch designs
  • Collaborate with Lead Landscape Designers to review and revise design plans prior to client presentation
  • Under the supervision of a Lead Landscape Designer, assist with “To Scale” landscape designs and project development
  • Visit project sites to assess landscape areas, client goals, and installation opportunities
  • Create landscape designs that align with project goals, aesthetics, and functionality
  • Assist with preparing project estimates for materials provided by Lukas Nursery
  • Coordinate with approved subcontractors and installers for project completion
  • Present final designs and estimates to clients professionally and effectively
  • Support in-store customers with plant knowledge and landscape solution recommendations
  • Effectively convert design opportunities into completed sales
  • Troubleshoot landscape and plant-related concerns and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Identify potential project challenges and proactively assist in resolving issues before installation

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in landscape design, horticulture, customer service, or related field preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and team members
  • Excellent organization, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in design-related technology and basic computer programs
  • Knowledge of plant selection, placement, and landscape functionality preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
  • Strong customer service and sales-oriented mindset
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work outdoors, visit project sites, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
