Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Time Building Code Inspector to join our Building Code Services team. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Connecticut State Building Codes and local regulations through field inspections of residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or code enforcement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Duties
  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial projects to verify compliance with applicable Connecticut State Building Codes and local ordinances.
  • Document inspection results and prepare clear, concise reports for project records.
  • Communicate findings and code requirements to contractors, design professionals, and municipal officials. Identify code violations and provide guidance on corrective actions.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to support project schedules and deliverables.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, building inspection, or code enforcement.
  • Current Connecticut State Building Official certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of Connecticut State Building Codes and construction practices.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel up to 50 miles for site inspections.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
