Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrician in Madison, WI. The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety procedures, the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, and experience working independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, transformers, and switches.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Install, bend, and remove conduit to accommodate specific wiring needs.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Pull electrical wiring through conduit and connect it to circuit breakers, transformers, and outlets.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using various testing devices.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Possession of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and standard electrical hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions and around wood dust and fumes.
  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
  • Must be aware of OSHA safety standards.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
