Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a passion for software quality and be responsible for the quality assurance testing of integration services developed for the ESB platform.

In this important role you will:

  • Focus on testing web services (SOAP and REST) and MQ messages.
  • Analyse integration requirements, design documents for completeness and testability.
  • Collect requirements to create test cases and procedures for manual testing and automation scripting.
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data and test scripts for different types of testing activities.
  • Create and/or coordinate the implementation of test environments.
  • Participate in reviews of test case coverage, test case design and script design.
  • Develop test automation scripts along with maintaining and enhancing the automated test framework supporting a continuous integration environment with automated smoke and regression testing.

  • Execute, monitor and analyse test cases creating test reports, metrics and logging defects.
  • Support the identification and debugging of software defects and champion the resolution of bugs and issues.
  • Ensure high test and code coverage, maintainability of scripts, reliability of equipment, and overall robustness of environment and solution throughout the entire development product cycle.
  • Continuous support of overall software quality and testing with continued refactoring of scripts and test cases as required and enhancing test coverage (system, performance, interoperability, stress, negative testing).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field
  • 5-7 years of QA testing experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in testing real time integration services (web services, messaging)
  • Strong experience in software testing methodology, SDLC, test development, test execution and automation development in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Quality Center)
  • Knowledge of common operating systems and their utilities(Windows, MACOS, Linux, VMWare)
  • Basic understanding of database platforms;
  • Strong background with scripting and development languages (Groovy, javascript, shell scripting)
  • Experience with automation tools ( SoapUI and Jmeter)
  • Understanding of continuous build and integration environments (Jenkins)
  • Understanding of source control and development tools (SVN, TFS)
  • Solid understanding of integration platforms
  • Experience working with WebMethods Integration Server or Layer 7 is a plus
