Job description

Purple, Rock, Scissors is seeking a mid-level UX, Web Designer to join our agency team on an ongoing contract basis. This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role with real ownership; you'll work directly with project managers, developers, and clients to take products from concept through polished, production‑ready designs. You're equally comfortable sketching flows and building out a component library.

Fully Remote, Contract Role. EST Hours required.

20 hours per week, through March 2027, with the possibility for extension.

Responsibilities Interaction Design & Wireframing

Lead the definition of user flows, information architecture, and low‑to‑high‑fidelity wireframes across web, mobile and app projects.

Translate complex requirements into clear, intuitive interaction patterns.

Present and articulate design decisions to clients and internal stakeholders.

Visual / UI Design

Create polished, on‑brand UI designs that balance aesthetics with usability and conversion.

Maintain visual consistency across screens, states, and breakpoints.

Collaborate with developers to ensure design fidelity through handoff.

Design Systems & Production

Build and maintain scalable component libraries and design systems in Figma.

Support production work including QA reviews and design updates through launch.

What We Are Looking For
  • 5+ years of UX/UI, website design experience, ideally at an agency or in a multi‑project environment.
  • Expert‑level Figma skills, components, auto‑layout, variables, and prototyping.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end design work: research through production.
  • Experience designing for web (responsive) and mobile (iOS/Android).
  • Comfort working directly with clients, presenting work, fielding feedback, managing revisions.
  • Familiarity with design handoff workflows and collaborating with front‑end developers.
  • A systems thinker who swings between big‑picture flows and pixel‑level details.
  • Availability Monday through Friday - 9am to 6pm EST.
Nice To Have
  • Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
  • Background in branding or visual identity work.
  • Exposure to motion design or prototyping for animation.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Webflow, Contentful, etc.).
