Internships serve as a stepping stone into the industry, while blockchain developer roles require more expertise and responsibility.

What is a Web3 developer internship?

A Web3 Developer Internship is a temporary position that allows students or entry-level professionals to gain hands-on experience in building decentralized applications (dApps) and working with blockchain technologies like Ethereum. Interns typically learn about smart contracts, cryptocurrencies, and web protocols that power the decentralized web. This role helps interns develop practical skills in programming languages such as Solidity, JavaScript, or Rust, and introduces them to concepts like distributed ledgers and token economies. Web3 Developer Internships are a great way to enter the rapidly growing blockchain industry and contribute to innovative projects.

What types of projects and technologies can I expect to work with during a Web3 developer internship?

As a Web3 Developer Intern, you'll typically work on projects involving blockchain protocols such as Ethereum, smart contract development using languages like Solidity, and decentralized application (dApp) front-end integration. Interns often collaborate with experienced developers to build, test, and deploy smart contracts, contribute to open-source tools, and explore emerging technologies like NFTs or DeFi platforms. You'll also gain exposure to development frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle), interact with APIs (e.g., Web3.js, Ethers.js), and participate in agile team meetings, fostering both technical growth and collaboration skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Web3 developer intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Web3 Developer Intern, you need a solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, programming skills in languages like Solidity or JavaScript, and familiarity with smart contract development. Experience with tools such as Truffle, Hardhat, and blockchain networks like Ethereum, as well as knowledge of version control systems like Git, is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and a willingness to learn new technologies help interns adapt in this rapidly evolving field. These skills are crucial for building secure, efficient decentralized applications and contributing effectively to Web3 development teams.

Job description

About the Company

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in 2014, offering a wide range of simple, reliable, and secure crypto products and services to individuals and institutions in over 70 countries. Our mission is to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom by providing trusted access to the decentralized future. We envision a world where crypto reshapes the global financial system, internet, and money to create greater choice, independence, and opportunity for all - bridging traditional finance with the emerging cryptoeconomy in a way that is more open, fair, and secure. As a publicly traded company, Gemini is poised to accelerate this vision with greater scale, reach, and impact.

The Department: Marketing

The Role: Predictions Partnerships Marketing Coordinator

We're building out our Predictions product and are creating a new team to lead our partnerships program. We're looking for a Predictions Partnerships Coordinator to support our relationships with the builder, traders, and distribution partners that make our predictions markets tradable. This is a highly visible role at the center of our Predictions roadmap.

This role is for someone who's genuinely fluent in how prediction markets work under the hood - order books, APIs, liquidity, marketplace dynamics - and who also knows how to build relationships with ecosystem builders and traders. You'll spend your time identifying prospective partners, leading outreach and relationship-building, and helping turn conversations into active partnerships.

This is a high impact role with real ownership. At its core, it's what you make of it - built for a high agency, mission driven operator who wants to set the strategy, level the team up, and win with a team that actually keeps score.

If you're chronically online, a builder, or someone who wants to win, you'll feel at home here.

This role is required to be in person twice a week at our New York City, NY office.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate partnership opportunities across predictions ecosystem of market makers, data providers, traders, and distribution partners that expand brand awareness of Gemini's Predictions product
  • Structure partnership terms in collaboration with legal, finance, and compliance
  • Manage onboarding, integration and activity of partners in close cross-functional partnership with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Operations. Act as the escalation point for any issues
  • Develop a deep, current view of the competitive landscape and translate that into actionable strategy

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in Partnerships, preferably building partner programs or ambassador ecosystem, internships count
  • Someone who loves prediction markets, the industry, and emerging trends
  • Understanding of trading behavior and infrastructure - order books, APIs, market-making mechanics, and how liquidity actually gets built on an exchange
  • Comfortable working with and onboarding new partners in partnership with legal, ops, and more
  • Strong analytical skills - able to size opportunities, track liquidity/volume performance, and make data-informed prioritization calls
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory and competitive environment
It Pays to Work Here

The compensation & benefits package for this role includes:
  • Competitive starting pay
  • A discretionary annual bonus
  • Long-term incentive in the form of a new hire equity grant
  • Comprehensive health plans
  • 401K with company matching
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Flexible time off

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $75,000 - $100,000 in the State of New York. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

In the United States, we offer a hybrid work approach at our hub offices, balancing the benefits of in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. Expectations may vary by location and role, so candidates are encouraged to connect with their recruiter to learn more about the specific policy for the role. Employees who do not live near one of our hubs are part of our remote workforce. All employees, however, are required to onboard in-person at one of our office locations.
