What is a web development certificate?

A Web Development Certificate job typically involves designing, building, and maintaining websites or web applications using technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various frameworks. These roles can range from front-end development, which focuses on user interface and experience, to back-end development, which deals with server-side logic and databases. Many certificate holders work as freelance developers, junior web developers, or entry-level programmers. Having a certificate can help showcase relevant skills to employers, even without a formal degree.

What career paths are available after earning a web development certificate?

After earning a Web Development Certificate, you can pursue entry-level roles such as junior web developer, front-end developer, or website content manager. Many certificate holders start by building and maintaining websites for small businesses, agencies, or as freelancers. With experience, you can advance to specialized areas like UX/UI design, full-stack development, or move into roles with greater project leadership responsibilities. This field also provides opportunities for remote work and continuous learning, making it adaptable for a variety of career goals. Ongoing professional development or earning additional certifications can support further advancement in the tech industry.

A web development certificate can help you qualify for entry-level web development roles, especially when combined with practical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks. However, many employers also value hands-on experience, a strong portfolio, and knowledge of tools like version control systems and responsive design. Certification can improve your chances but may need to be supplemented with real-world projects or internships.

What can you do with a web development certificate?

A web development certificate prepares individuals for roles such as front-end, back-end, or full-stack web developers. It provides skills in programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks, enabling you to build, maintain, and improve websites and web applications. This role serves as a central point of coordination between content owners, authors, and crossfunctional teams to ensure that all web updates-ranging from new site launches to ongoing page enhancements-are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with established rollout timelines.

A key focus of the position is maintaining high standards of quality and consistency. • Supporting UIUX activities for website and online projects
  • Monitoring site performance and making datadriven recommendations to improve content quality, usefulness, and user experience (e.g., identifying missing content, broken links, or layout enhancements).
  • Managing backend site structure and workflows in Magento, DXP/Drupal and JIRA content publishing requests according to respective processes and workflows.
  • Identifying and reporting website issues and improvement opportunities in partnership with web development and IT teams, including bugs and new functionality requests.
  • Maintaining a balanced workload consisting of approximately 60% content publishing and 40% content implementation and site maintenance.
  • Data and webpage management of 5000+ products
  • SKU-level product/data management (NTI, attributes)
  • Widen/DAM experience, including compliance (RA)
  • Own End-to-end flow across DAM DXP Magent

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • College degree in related program
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Web Publisher with deep expertise in CMS platforms, especially Magento, DXP/Drupal and JIRA.
  • Solid foundation in web disciplines, including UX, design principles, and content best practices.
  • Familiarity of Oracle back-end systems
  • Familiarity with Widen/DAM applications.
  • Skilled in copywriting and editorial quality control to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of published content.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.

Abilities:

  • Strong ownership of timely, accurate content delivery and professional execution.
  • Clear, effective communicator with strong presentation skills and ability to explain technical issues.
