Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.


The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Dental Medicine, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually. General Summary:

The Web Designer is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and functionality of PNWU.edu. They are responsible for creating a cohesive brand identity across all University website pages to deliver an excellent marketing impression to a wide variety of audiences. This position is responsible for driving web-based conversions toward university marketing goals such as student and employee recruitment, scholarship donations, and public awareness. The role collaborates closely with the marketing team and other stakeholders to create UI/UX designs, functional interfaces, and new web features.


The Web Designer performs ongoing maintenance to ensure web performance, security, and cross-browser functionality. They also design and implement new webpages and campaign landing pages focused on driving conversions toward university marketing goals. This role is the point of contact for all web-related inquiries from members of campus.


Success in this position requires strong knowledge of UI/UX principles, familiarity with content management systems, and effective communication with departments and other MarCom team members to understand requirements and manage project timelines.


Essential Job Functions:

• Take the lead role in designing, creating, and maintaining the University’s website, focusing on functionality, user experience, appearance, accessibility, and conversion rate optimization.

• Regularly evaluate organization and layout of websites/pages and implement appropriate information architectures to maximize user experience, website performance, and best practices.

• Coordinate with other members of campus to create and modify webpages for specific purposes or outcomes. Be first point of contact for people needing help with web issues related to content, design, and images.

• Design and create consistently branded digital products that provide compelling digital experiences for key audiences.

• Contribute to the strategy, design, and execution of digital campaigns designed to bring people to the University’s website.

• Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

Requirements:

Education:

• Required: Bachelor's degree, discipline related to communications, public relations, marketing, design, website design/development, advertising, computer science, etc.


Experience:

• Required: 3-4 years web development experience using WordPress or similar Content Management System.

• Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in web design, UI design, and UX design, including accessibility best practices.

• Preferred: Demonstrated experience using web analytics to optimize webpages for organic and paid traffic and conversion rate optimization.

• Additional consideration given to those with HTML/CSS/JS knowledge; and other marketing, communications, or higher education knowledge or experience.
