  • Own code quality and contribute to development standards focused on performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
  • Leverage GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI-assisted development tools to improve development speed, code quality, and engineering workflows
  • Optimize site architecture, navigation, search, SEO/SEM, analytics tagging, and overall website performance
  • Support Google Tag Manager and digital analytics implementations that improve visibility into customer behavior and site performance
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues, resolve defects, and continuously improve Pelican’s public-facing and internal web platforms
  • Explore new technologies, development practices, and automation opportunities that strengthen our digital capabilities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive web development experience, ideally supporting ecommerce or consumer-facing digital platforms
  • Strong experience with PHP, Laravel, MySQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and React.js or Vue.js
  • Hands-on experience developing within Shopify Plus
  • Experience building and maintaining REST/SOAP API integrations
  • Familiarity with AWS, GitHub, Google Tag Manager, Agile/Scrum, and modern development workflows
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, source control, application security, coding standards, and performance optimization
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and develop practical, scalable solutions
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering with UX/UI, Ecommerce, Marketing, and Product teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
