Job description

ON SITE REQUIRED: Right now, VSP team is generally working 4 days on site and 1 day off based on the Governor's directive. This is subject to change in either direction. This could also change based on the demands of the project, so it is possible that there will be weeks where they need to be on site (5 days) all week. If selected, they need to plan to be on site 4 days a week and be available to be on site as needed.

What You Do and How You Do It:

As a WordPress Developer in the IT Division, you will be joining a highly dynamic and results oriented Department. You will be a key resource in providing enhancements and security for six WordPress applications while working closely with stakeholders. Your full stack development work will support VSP's mission in highway safety, emergency messaging, and recruitment. The position is hybrid and your work arrangement does require regular onsite presence.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working across the full stack in WordPress to build new features and services
  • Developing solutions in WordPress that support positive, accessible user experiences in both desktop and mobile environments
  • Debugging and security remediations for public facing applications
  • Working with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices, and pursuing continued learning opportunities

Here's What You Need:

  • Demonstrated expertise in WordPress application development
  • Proficiency in PHP coding and debugging
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of SQL
  • Understanding of REST API
  • Proven knowledge of back-end/infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles
