We are looking for skilled, professional Registered Nurses to join our team at Norfolk Regional Center. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division and provide critical care to adult patients with mental illness at Norfolk Regional Center (NRC).
The Norfolk Regional Center (NRC) was created by an act of the Nebraska Legislature in 1885. NRC currently serves two distinct populations of adult males who are committed by a Mental Health Board for inpatient psychiatric treatment. In 2006, NRC began providing treatment to individuals who have sexually offended. The Nebraska Sex Offender (SO) Treatment Program improves public safety by reducing the risk of re-offense, while also improving the quality of patients' lives.
In 2018, NRC opened the Medical Support Program and began providing high quality nursing and medical treatment for men with significant physical conditions and a variety of psychiatric, cognitive, and aging issues. The program provides activities designed to maintain optimal functioning while at the same time meeting the specific psychiatric care and safety needs of each patient.

Registered Nurses perform general nursing duties including:
• Assessment
• Documentation
• Patient interventions
• Case management
• Medical administration
• Review of doctors' orders
• Arranging for lab protocols
• May lead/direct the work of other nurses and/or paraprofessional staff
Starting Pay Rate: $51.336/hour /hour. Additional Facility Differential Pay of $3.00/hour when working and additional shift differentials up to $2.50 paid for 2nd and 3rd shifts when working.
Available Shift Options:
8-Hour Shifts
  • Day Shift: 6:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
  • Evening Shift: 2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.
  • Night Shift: 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
12-Hour Shifts
  • Midday Shift: 10:45 a.m. - 11:15 p.m.
  • Day Shift: 6:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m.
  • Overnight Shift: 6:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.
Scheduling Structure
Our regular scheduling model offers consistency and predictability, including:
  • Two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts each week
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska.
Other: Consideration will be given to applicants who will receive a degree / license within 90 days of application date. Candidates must obtain licensure prior to employment. Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
