The Role
Liberty Science Center (LSC) is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive STEM Partnerships Intern to support research and data analysis for our STEM education initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in education program evaluation, market research, and exploring partnerships within the STEM education landscape.

The STEM Partnerships Intern will assist with data entry, research and analysis, and outreach to schools, districts, and community organizations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented student interested in nonprofit work, education, STEM engagement, or community partnerships, seeking practical experience in administrative and outreach support. The STEM Partnerships Intern will report to the Director, Partnerships, and work collaboratively with other members of the Partners team.

What You’ll Do
Research & Data Analysis: Research potential partnership opportunities related to:
○ STEM education organizations
○ Online schools and virtual learning platforms
○ Schools in New Jersey and the New York City area
● Analyze LSC’s STEM programming data and compare it to educational trends data
● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Deliverables
By the end of the internship, you will:
● Collect and analyze historical booking data for LSC’s STEM programs
● Identify trends, participation patterns, scheduling insights, and opportunities for growth
● Prepare analysis summaries and visual reports to support program strategy
● Investigate other institutions with offerings similar to LSC Team’s programs (e.g., STEM providers, after-school programs, ed-tech platforms)
● Document program features, pricing, audience, delivery modes, and unique positioning

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
● Pursuing an undergraduate degree or a 2026 graduate of a New Jersey college or university
o Desired Majors: Business, Communications, Marketing
● STEM background with a focus on streamlining and optimizing processes.
● Ability to thrive within a team setting
● Data analysis and problem-solving skills

Compensation and Schedule
This is a paid part-time internship position. Interns are compensated at a rate of $20/hour and work 15 hours per week over the course of 10 weeks. Interns must be available a minimum of 2 full days per week (Monday - Friday).

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, on-site work requires the employee to stand for long periods while working with students or the public. The ability to lift 30 pounds is required. The position requires frequent visits to the museum floor (navigating concrete floors, climbing stairs, etc.) and outdoors (navigating uneven ground and being exposed to the elements), and tolerating high levels of noise.
