Job description

Overview

Lutron is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our collaborative team and contribute to high-impact projects. In this role, you will help shape how our industry's leading smart lighting and shading products are built at scale. At Lutron, your interest in manufacturing will grow through hands-on experience, practical skill-building, and collaboration with experienced manufacturing engineers in a supportive environment. 

We consider interns to be very valuable in our search for exceptional future members of our team and pride ourselves in providing outstanding work experience to students from a wide variety of universities and backgrounds. 

Manufacturing opportunities are available in multiple locations within the Lehigh Valley. These locations include our Corporate Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA, our production facility in Alburtis, PA, and our warehouse facility in Allentown, PA.

Responsibilities

Your internship at Lutron could offer you the opportunity to work on: 

  • Collaboration with product design, production plant, and tooling teams to design consumer products for high-volume manufacturability    
  • Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts to analyze new products 
  • Assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals 
  • Driving active projects in partnership with crossfunctional teams 
  • Learning and applying newly adopted tools and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability 
Qualifications

We seek talented, success-minded people with the desire and ability to make things happen. Our baseline requirements are simple: 

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field

  • Your cumulative GPA is at least 3.20

  • You are a rising junior, rising senior, or master's student at the start of theinternship

  • You have broad interests in engineering, design and development

  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

  • Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week
